Band Members:

Call time - 3:15     Remember money for dinner.
Uniform -  Grays are required for this weekend.  I would suggest they wear sweat pants & sweatshirt over the grays, to make changing easier. For anyone interested, I've seen Cuddle Duds long underwear in gray at both Sams and Walmart. All hair will be required to be up under the hat, no nail polish, jewelry or makeup. Students should wear the white marching shoes in their uniform bags. Socks should be white, going half way to the knee - we have some to borrow if needed.

Families and Friends:
The competition is at the EIU Football stadium. See the festival page on for a complete schedule, directions, etc. Tickets (available at the gate):  $8 for adults, $5 for students/senior citizens, Children ages 5 and under are free.

Homecoming Friday

posted Sep 18, 2014, 8:13 AM by Kate Smith

For the parade on Friday, the band will be in summer uniform, including white socks that cover the ankle and white tennis shoes. Hair up, no nail polish, jewelry or makeup. The parade begins at 2, from the high school. We are looking for 10-12 parents to walk the parade route with the band and carry water. If you can help out, please meet near the band room door at 1:40.
For the game Friday night, we will be in full uniform. Kids need to wear grays, hair needs to be up, no nail polish, jewelry, or makeup. We will have crew length socks available. Call time is 5:30. Please have your student eat before coming to the game! They cannot eat anything once they have the uniforms on.
With full uniforms, we will need more help on Friday night:
  • 2-3 people to put the bleacher covers on the bleachers before pregame, then remove the covers and and return them to the band room after the band is dismissed, usually at the end of 3rd quarter.
  • About 10 parents to help check in uniforms after the game. Every uniform (all 164 of them) needs to be checked before it is put back in the trailer. Once the band leaves the game, please meet at the uniform trailer if you can help. With more people checking, it should only take 10-15 minutes.
We will need 2 large bags of ice for each performance Friday. If you can provide some ice, please let me know.
